Claret: A Whiter Shade of Pale

CLARET is an adult fantasy/horror crossover with a memoir-like narration and series potential that will appeal to readers who loved the dark, tortured tales in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles and the hauntingly personal POV of Joe in You by Caroline Kepnes.

Eighty monotonous years in hiding from the coven whose leader he killed has left dapper vampire, November Claret, restless and yearning for change. When he encounters Gwen—a human enticing enough to draw him away from his dinner—Claret discovers emotions he hasn’t felt in decades and can see happiness on his horizon. But when an old friend and lover, Devereaux, returns to his life, he’ll find himself conflicted as he falls in love with them both. Soon, his chance to make a decision between the vampire man and human woman he loves will come to a screeching halt when the ruling class of vengeful vampires from the coven he’s evaded discover him, leading Devereaux and Gwen into a vicious game of pick the one you love the most.

Claret will have to risk one life to save the other… unless a third option presents itself.

CLARET is an #OwnVoices story with bisexual representation that takes the reader deep into the mind of the morally-grey protagonist as he struggles with love and emotional identity, which I believe is relatable for so many readers, even those who are not vampires.
